2019 - FIRST Deep Space

The Game

The new game was announced on January 5. The game, FIRST DESTINATION: DEEP SPACE is a space themed game. Teams work in alliances made up of three robots each to get the most points. Points are acquired by shooting balls or "cargo" and placing hatches onto rockets and cargo ships. To earn additional points, alliances can climb one of three levels in their HAB

platformYou can learn more about the rules

Our Team

This year, our FRC team consists of 37 students and 10 amazing mentors!

Our Robot

Our 2019 robot, Intersmellar, is our first robot since 2015 that has used pneumatics. It has a 6 Neo, 8-wheel West Coast Drive base, along with the capability to place any game piece at any level and climb to any level on the HAB platform. The game piece manipulator is a dual-use mechanism, utilizing pneumatics to collapse and expand to fit both cargo and hatch panels. Additionally, the cargo intake mechanism uses the pneumatics to expand and retract into the drive base. Intersmellar's climbing system includes two mechanisms: an elevator that expands downwards in the back, and the cargo intake that pushes up the front end of the robot.
